The Music Cafe 2010 sees the return of JAMFEST, a three day mini festival in Leicester, boasting a wide array of creative styles and art-forms.

Brought to you by UKURBANCULTURE in collaboration with Digital Base Sound-system, this year’s festival builds on the success of JAMFEST 2008 and the following Guerrilla events

The concept behind the festival is part of an exciting initiative from UKURBANCULTURE, in collaboration with Digital Bass Sound-system, to connect lesser known, talented individuals and provide them with a safe and enjoyable environment where they can pursue their interest, contribute to the UK urban mMovement and ultimately gain recognition for those contributions.

JAMFEST embodies the vision of UKURBANCULTURE; it is the unification of art forms, styles and, ultimately, people that drive the UK urban movement and guarantee its progression and prosperity.

At JAMFEST the audience can experience and enjoy the UK’s urban arts scene in a safe, local environment. Members of the public would not normally see the intricate, multi-layered steps of graffiti art in the making or the physical demands of break-dancing. ,, JAMFEST brings them this opportunity, leaving people with a deeper understanding of these often-ostracised art forms.

CBCM2010 Our third `all-day event`, from 1:15 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., featuring 4 of the best country/rock/rock`n roll bands from the North of Britain.

The acts have been chosen to provide a good variation of modern country music, from self-penned music to covers, which should appeal to a wide range of music tastes.

The event will hopefully help to increase the general awareness and acceptability of modern British Country Music not only to the present Country audiences, but also to music lovers in general.

The bands this year will be:
Brian Hughes and the Lonesharks, a 4-piece band from Scotland, who made a great impression at the first event, playing mainly original material from award-winning songwriter Brian, with a few covers.
Cross Country, a 4-piece Country-Rock band from the North East, returning from last year’s event, playing Country and Country-Rock covers again with some original material thrown in for good measure.
Gary Perkins and the Breeze , a 5-piece band from South Yorkshire, playing a great selection of covers, interspersed with some of Gary’s original compositions. The band have won Male Vocalist, Instrumentalist, and Band of the Year over the last couple of years.
The Crown Top Kings, a 4-piece band from Lancashire, 3 of whom were part of the original Swing Commanders lineup. They will be injecting some Western Swing, Rock’n’Roll, and Classic Country into the proceedings.
Each band will play 2 full sets – over 6 hours of fully live country music – with recorded music between sets, and the possibility of a showcase in the teatime break (the music never stops!)

A professional sound system will be provided by M.T.Allan Audio

The venue is the George Lawton Hall, Mossley, Tameside (OL5 0HR), situated in East Manchester, near Oldham, with easy access from the local motorway network. There will be a fully licensed bar, large dance floor, with reasonably priced hot & cold food available.
